DSD Shopping

Hello! Have you started your Digital Scrapbooking Day shopping spree! Some friends that I know have their goodies waiting to be downloaded. Unfortunately, I was not in the mood to shop. Or maybe, the kits that I saw did not appeal to me. Or those kits that appeal to me does not fit my budget. Haha! So I went searching for a Cat5e patch cable online since I seem to have broken ours. Yikes.Honestly, I personally resolved that I won’t be buying a kit if it is worth more than a dollar. OK, make that $2. :) Aside from that, it has to be sooo appealing that I won’t be able to sleep unless I have that in my stash. Haha!

Anyways, if you are looking for a list of the DSD promotional sales, you can check-out Chikai’s list here. Happy shopping, happy Halloween and Happy Digital Scrapbooking Day!

That’s how old Johnson & Johnson is!

If there is one smell that reminds me of childhood and innocence, it's Johnson's Baby Powder, the original one. I am way too old to be called a "baby" but Johnson's Baby Powder is a must in my toiletries.Aside from that, I grew up using Johnson's Baby Lotion and Soap. I am one proud Johnson's baby! And so is my husband and eventually, our daughter!

I used to think that Johnson & Johnson just does that -- take care of babies by providing the best health products for them. Johnson & Johnson has been investing on research and studies in developing new consumer products as well as prescription medicines. I would love to get my hands on their Johnson’s Melt Away Stress and the Johnson’s Shea and Butter Baby Cream. My doctor has prescribed me with Zyrtec and Tylenol but it’s just now that I realized that they came from Johnson & Johnson!

I am impressed to know that they are also venturing into medical diagnostics. It is equally important to get the proper and accurate medical diagnostics in order to get the best medical treatment. This prevents development of complications and administration of inappropriate medical advices and prescriptions.

Johnson & Johnson’s dedication to caring goes beyond looking after the well-being of people. It also works toward the protection of the environment through their various programs and initiatives. Truly, Johnson & Johnson has taken the task of looking after the health of world.

Goodbye Minnie Mouse!

I am finally done with transferring our old photos from these:

IMG_4397

to these:

IMG_4411 And what can I say? I am so proud of myself! Those Minnie Mouse albums gave our photos their temporary homes for about 3 years. However, even if I tried so many times to glue them back, the covers keep detaching from the leaves, so I have to bid them goodbye and let them rest somewhere. :D

But I am not done yet! As I am typing this post, I am also photo disc-ing in ACDSee our old photos stored in CDs. We just stopped printing photos when we got our digital camera and now I am suffering. Haha! I will be selecting the photos which I wish to be printed and avail of my free prints from ArtsCow. That is easier than coming up with a 20-pager photo book in about 4 days! See, it’s one of my freebies but I just can’t avail of it now. If you like to avail of it, leave a note at my CBox, OK?

Anyways, going back to my photos, I already have photo disc-ed 8 CDs and I still have 11 more! Haay! But at least, I am slowly getting there. I know I should not wait until I’m done, but I just want to finish this so I can concentrate on scrapping. Aside from the photos in CDs, I also have my childhood photos stored in a shoebox! Did I just hear you say “Huwat?” Haha! Blame it on my mom. But no, don’t do that. I am finally accepting the fact that she just loves taking photos and not excels in storing them. Haha! Anyways, maybe those Minnie Mouse albums can house them, as suggested by Wes (the Husband). Let’s see. :)

By the way, here is a page of one of my albums:

IMG_4406 And I am mighty proud! I still have to design the photo inserts which can be placed in the covers of the albums. They don’t coordinate, blame it on the limited supplies offered at our small mall. But hey, I love them! They’re much cooler than those Minnie Mouse albums. Haha! (And I miss THAT baby! Time flies really fast!)

Save up on Photo Books and Photo Printing and Receive FREEBIES

I have been looking for a good printing service that offers superb quality of prints and at the same

time, reliable and affordable. We have 4 years (and counting) worth of photos that need to be printed and they need to be printed and placed in albums in order

for me to retain my sanity. Haha! The ones the we have here are way too expensive. There are others that are online and a bit cheaper but then, I still have not availed of their services yet. Blame my lazy bones. Haha!

Good thing I chanced upon ArtsCow.com. Thanks to a discussion at the Oscraps forum. I can’t believe when I saw this at their website

:

4567Signing up is free so I did sign up and was greeted by a long list of freebies! Like Ornaments and

Photo Calendars, Playing Cards, Money Clip and even 8x8 Photo Books (20 pages). These and more will expire soon so its a pity that I can’t use them all. Interested? SIGN-UP HERE.

For now, I will be taking advantage and test their quality as I avail of my 50 4R prints. From what I’ve gathered, the only fee that I will be paying for these free stuff is the shipping fee. Check-out their Shipping Rates here. I will be selecting photos from my stack of CDs and enhance them as soon as I finish my review on term life insurance quotes. My freebie list is looong and there are more items that I can avail of . The latest date that some of them expires is after a year I’ve signed-up! They ship from Hong Kong so I am expecting that my soon-to-be-ordered orders will arrive on time.

1-965-0-1-1

And for digital scrapbookers out there, you might want to try their Photo Book printing. Pricing can be found here. Shipping is at $7.99 per book. And read about the reviews of those who already had their photo books printed by ArtsCow here.

Interested? Sign-up now! And just in case it’s OK with you, kindly use my reference link: SIGN-UP HERE. OK? :) Don’t forget that there’s more to ArtsCow than photo books and photo printing so check them out now!

Templates to the Rescue

If you are in a digiscrapping rut like me, you might want to try templates, as suggested by my friend, Kaje. Like me, Kaje has been complaining about her lost mojo. However, unlike me, she has started using her accumulated kits and was able to finish two layouts as of press time. Way to go, Kaje! She used templates in her recent layouts which helped her jumpstart her mojo.

Various shops offer templates, some even have them in their monthly grab bags. However, a little searching can help you save up because free templates abound online, just like replica watches. For a start, here are some templates that caught my fancy:

Nouveau Template

Template 31
Pencil Lines Sketch 108

There yah go! I hope that will take you out of the scrapping rut. Take me with yah, OK? :D

Photo Freedom: My First Few Steps

I have been ranting and whining about my lost mojo. But deep in me, I know what is happening and what caused my lost of drive to create. These are:
1. I am overwhelmed with the number of photos that I have on CDs.
2. I am guilty for not printing those 4 years (and counting) worth of photos.
3. I have tons of kits in CDs which I have not tagged (though they are being Photo Disc-ed once I burn them).
4. I am waiting for the inspiration to hit me so I can finally go through the CDs of old photos and select which one to print and then edit them and then find a good printing service-provider.

Now that I've officially declared them by posting them, I am proud to announce that I am slowly but surely making progress, thanks to the inspiration brought by Stacy Julian's book, Photo Freedom. I know I already shared this in my other blog, but this time, I AM REALLY STICKING WITH MY PLAN. And the plan includes:
1. Transferring the old printed photos to new, sturdy and acid-free albums.
2. Scan through my back up CDs and find the photos that I want to print.
3. Do a little of enhancing and send them to Arts Cow for printing.
4. Buy additional albums for the printed photos.
5. Tag the photos in CDs, using a system similar to Stacy's.
6. Find a system for my kits.
7. SCRAP!

I started last night by finally unwrapping the new photo albums (which I bought some months ago) and are now housing our first photos when we started our small family. I decided that those are the best albums (more or less similar to what Stacy used, minus the rings). Each can keep 300 4Rs and I still need more. The old albums (which are so cheap) are now coverless. They're cheap and not durable. *sigh* I more albums which are similar to what I am using now, so we are going to be buying them later (as Hubby's gift for our 7th year anniversary as sweethearts last October 22).

Why do I need to have those photos printed even if I already have them on CDs?
1. One can't really trust the durability and reliability of the CDs as storage.
2. I might misplace them.
3. It is still best for our family to see them as printed papers.
4. I won't be feeling so guilty anymore for not scrapping since they can reminish our family memories through those photos.

With that, I hope and pray that these lists will work for me and help lessen my stress (which is very evident, thanks to a big acne on my forehead!) caused by thinking about this concern. I will try to record my progress here so I can personally track how I have been doing. I hope to improve my scrapping and to really record the memories and let my loved ones see the Big Picture as I see it.

Overly Loving Overlays

>> Saturday, October 25, 2008

I was looking for the best luggage (since the holiday season is almost here and that only means one thing - our annual vacation to Pampanga!), I came to a site that offers Samsonite luggage and bags. While waiting for the page to load, I visited Catscap since I have not gone there for quite some time. As you can remember, I totally went gaga over Danielle's photo overlay when she released them some months ago. However, up to now, I have not used them YET. And here she is, releasing these:

Danielle's {Mostly} Antique Photo Textures

Danielle's Moody Photo Textures

And I am salivating over this:

Danielle's Worn Alpha Overlays

It's totally unique and versatile! One can create an unlimited set of alphas with this and the possibilities are endless!

I easily get distracted so here I am, instead of looking for a luggage which we can use for this year's trip, I am already thinking about what to buy during the Digital Scrapbooking Day on November 1 and this set of alpha tops my list!

:: Nothing. Haha. Sleep perhaps?
6. Would you rather win an argument knowing you are wrong, or lose an argument knowing you are right?

:: Books, digital kits, photos, notebooks.
9. Which gives you the most satisfaction, recognition or private success?

1. If someone expects you to do something you aren’t obligated to do, does that make you want to do it less?
:: Nope.
2. Are there any activities, commitments, obligations in your life that instantly put you in a bad mood?
:: Yes there, especially with my new job. But they don't put me in a bad mood, they just stress me out. Hehe.
3. What do other people do that irritate you that you recognize as a weakness in yourself?
:: Procrastinate. Hehe.
4. Do you surround yourself with the friends who like you best?
:: I don't think people will befriend me if they don't like me, so, yes!
5. When you are angry or nervous, how do you calm yourself down?
:: I talk to my husband - my pacifier, my source of wisdom and strength.
6. Do you take compliments well?
:: Not so. Hehe.
7. Do you think you would have been a different person if you had different parents?
:: Maybe.
8. Do you change your mind frequently or do you make up your mind about something and stay firm with that position?
:: I change my mind every now and then and I am entitled to that because I am a woman. Haha!
9. Describe the person that would be the exact opposite of you.
:: Always on time, never procrastinates, not loyal, not techie, not talkative, not witty, not loved by Wesley and Kaela Therese. Haha!
10. Are you generally capable of seeing both sides of an argument at the same time?
:: Yeah. I have to. :)

Thanks Yen!
