On Digishopping and Downloading

>> Tuesday, September 9

As a newbie in digiscrapping, I was overwhelmed with the gazillions of kits which were made free by generous and talented kit designers from all over the world. I would download each and every freebie that I came across with. When I began earning online, I was excited by the fact that it also meant having the power to buy kits that I fancy. To say that I have more than a dozen of CDs of digital kits (freebies and bought) is an understatement! It was (and still is!) the Husband who supplies me with blank CDs and I now realize that it is such a waste if majority of those kits won't be used.

I am learning my lessons the hard (and expensive) way and I want to share those lessons with you: Carefully choose what you buy and download. I used to fancy one particular designer's kits. Almost every day, I stalked her shop and drool over her kits. When the shop held a sale, I immediately grabbed the opportunity and hoarded her stuff. But when I started using them with my layouts, I was disappointed because it was tough for me to use them! They don't fit my style. So here is my second advice: Know your style. Your style will determine the stuff that you will be comfortable working with. Of course, you can be flexible and all, but as a newbie, this will definitely make your life easy. You can slowly but surely spread your wings later on, but for the mean time, take it easy and tune-in to what your artistic inclination is.

Carefully choose what you buy and download and know your style. These will save you from frustration and useless spending. I should know! LOL!

korek na korek zanne! dapat bago magdownload at magshop dapat malinaw kung ano yung style mo pero syempre malalaman mo lang yung later on na pag marami ka na nadownload at napamili na hindi mo magamit. hehehe :)

Ahh yes. I dread to think how much unused stuff I have on my HDs..... I totally agree about defining your style too, I know what I can and can't scrap with now (it only took me 2 years to work it out! lol)

Great post!
