Tips on Buying a Used Car

>> Tuesday, August 31, 2010

I was supposed to hit the mall today for some shopping but the weather did not cooperate so I just stayed home. I only went out later in the afternoon when the rain finally stopped and fetched my daughter from school. I don’t really like commuting to and fro her school when it’s raining. It’s a good thing that most often, it’s just a drizzle when it is time to go home. I proposed to my husband that we buy a pre-owned car because our daughter’s school is quite far from where we live. But since we prioritize saving up for our house and our daughter’s education, that plan remains shelved.

But to be prepared, I’ve already asked around for tips on buying pre-owned cars and here they are:

  • It is important to seek recommendations from trusted and knowledgeable persons. You do not want to buy anything from someone who has a bad reputation. If you do not have any idea about cars and engines, it is best that you bring along someone who is familiar about them – a friend or perhaps, a mechanic.
  • Do your homework and research. You have to be aware of what you want and need in a car. Make a list of what matters to you: the model, service history, mileage, etc.
  • Check everything like the rims and tires, windows, lights, speedometers, doors, etc. You do not want additional expenses for repair or replacement once you bought the car. Make sure that you also get under the car and check for holes or leaks.
  • Lastly, do not forget to test drive it!

Adgitizing (Again)

I guess you have already noticed that I joined the Adgitize bandwagon again. I am hoping that through this effort, this blog’s stat will somehow improve. Adgitize has already helped my other blogs’ statistics some months back but I was too lazy to renew and do the daily drops so I stopped. Hopefully this time, I will do better. ;)

Anyway, here’s my blog’s Adgitize badge. Please do click when you see it. Thank you!

Poker Sets With Real Bronze, Silver and Gold Coins

One of the famous Facebook games is online poker. Some of my friends were hooked and majority of their time online was spent playing it. I received some invitations to play it but I refused simply because I do not know how to play poker. Aside from that, I myself was obsessing over another Facebook game at that time.

Now this news is surely interesting for my poker-playing friends.: The leading authority when it comes to precious metals investment, the US Gold Bureau, released their High Roller poker sets which are composed of real silver, bronze and gold coins. The sets have real American Eagle coins from the US Mint instead of the traditional plastic or clay poker chips. Customization is even allowed. The standard set is priced at $375,00 while other sets that have 1-kilo gold bars and rare coins come with a higher price.
